OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE
It is often said that the only way to overcome our fears is to face them head-on. This can be a very difficult thing to do, but it is often the only way to truly conquer our fears. When we are faced with a fear, we have two choices. We can either let the fear control us, or we can take control of the fear and face it head-on.
If we let fear control us, it will most likely lead to us avoiding whatever it is that we are afraid of - thus remaining in stagnant energy. This will only give it strength and power over time.
We are each called to our purpose & walking in your purpose or even the path to understanding it is difficult and the little fear bug pops in each time you're about to level up or in the transition to the next season in your life.
[Leave the past behind]
Even in this season of my life. With so many great opportunities to thrive and help others succeed, the journey can feel larger than life. I remember times when I could see a new way of doing things, which I knew would be better in the long run, but I didn’t pursue change because the thought of succeeding was overshadowed by the fear of failing or others not resonating with it.
We need to make room for the new - new strategies and ideas, new opportunities. Fear-based failure on past experiences prevents innovation and stops us from trying new things that God has for us. Staying steady in prayer and meditation helps restore your drive to pursue fresh opportunities.
We each need to help create a culture where it is OK to try something and risk failing without being labeled a failure.
Here are the 3 points I came up with after thinking about this topic:
1. Proactively facing our fears head-on. Rather than avoiding the things that scare us, it can be helpful to actively confront fear and dive into situations that make us feel uneasy. This can help us gain a stronger sense of confidence and overcome feelings of anxiety or insecurity.
2. Relying on a supportive community or group for guidance and encouragement. When we feel alone in our fears, it can be helpful to reach out to others for support. This could involve talking to a trusted friend or family member, joining a support group, or therapy sessions.
3. Putting our trust in God. One of the most effective ways to overcome fear is to surrender our worries and concerns to God. Whether we are struggling with a fear of failure, rejection, or something else entirely, we can find peace and reassurance in His presence and power. With God on our side, there is nothing we need to fear!
